It’s like something is always missing!

Not Happy, Not Sad .. Just Empty!

Does this sound familiar?

“I have everything I could ask for….but there’s an emptiness that I feel inside!”
“ Why does this keep happening to me?”
“ No one understands me.” “ I wish I could feel more confident.”
“ I want to be a better parent than my own parents but I seem to repeat their patterns!”
“ My partner and me don’t really have issues, yet I feel there’s not much connection.”

I believe every human being can be their authentic self by embracing their good, bad and ugly. We can live a life of purpose & meaning, joy & vitality while experiencing both courage & fear, confidence & self-doubt, calm & anxious.
It is about becoming aware of these different parts of ourselves and then learning the skills to manage fear, the self-doubt and the anxiety.

I am Atika a trained therapist, have been in the mental health field for the past 18 years and have counselled people with varied issues like self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, life transitions and parenting. I’m a psychologist, an entrepreneur whose dream is to make mental health as talked about as physical health – without judgements!!

My story

I’m a sensitive person and growing up in the 90’s I felt like a misfit as people around me were more cognitive with focus on behaviour rather than emotions. Therefore, I felt something is wrong with me that I hurt easily! I questioned why can’t I be stronger and did try to change myself only to feel more pain.
This was my motivation to study psychology and more than anything understand myself as I was confused with the messaging I received from others and what I felt inside. As I have been fortunate to experience other’s life journeys I have come to realise that all we need as humans is a validation of our experience. And that is my approach towards therapy, while I’m trained in different modalities like Person-Centred, Gottman’s Couple Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming I use an eclectic approach as every individual is unique.

Who we are?

We are a team of husband and wife who come from diverse backgrounds with a keen interest in human behaviour. Our own journey as a couple came with challenges and today as we look back, what made us stay together was not just our love but understanding of each other’s worlds.

We met when I started my first entrepreneurial journey and Digbijoy very kindly offered to guide me…. The venture shut down in 2 years but I found my life partner thanks to it!

Today I’m on my 3rd venture and he has decided to leverage his strengths and be a coach for start-up founders.

Couple’s Therapy will help in break the cycle that leads to anger, frustration, and disconnection, manage conflict in meaningful ways, heal past hurts that happened within the relationship, learn to be seen and heard by one another and establish shared meaning and life goals.
Gottman Couples Therapy is an approach to couples therapy developed by Dr’s. John and Julie Gottman. It’s based on over 40 years of research on what makes relationships succeed or fail. The therapy often involves assessment tools, such as questionnaires and interviews, to identify the specific issues within the relationship.
